I’m back!! “New” Ice Cream in the City

humphry-slocombeSorry for not posting for so long. Been pretty busy, but we are back!

Here is my latest favorite ice cream in the city. Made a stop at Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream in the Mission. The name comes from one of the characters in one of my favorite british comedies, “Are you Being Served?”. Anyway, it’s a few doors off the 24th Street on Harrison at 2790A Harrison Street. Had two scoops of ice cream in a cup, which is considered a single. The two flavors were, get this, Boccalone Prosciutto, and a flavor called “Secret Breakfast”. The “Secret Breakfast” is now in my top two flavors of ice cream in the City, next to Bi-Rite’s Salted Caramel. The “Secret Breakfast” flavor is Bourbon and Cornflakes. It’s a great flavor, but overall the texture of the ice creams here are a bit “icier” than Bi-Rite, and not quite as creamy IMHO. THe Boccalone Proscuitto tasted like the very sweet fat from a slice of proscuitto. Other flavors that I tasted there were lue Bottle Vietnamese coffee and “Salt and Peppa” (yuck!). They also had Yuzu, Vanilla, Valrhona chocolate Sorbet and Blood orang yogurt. They rotate flavors almost daily, and I’ll be back when they are offering the Pistachio Bacon! yummm….
