Annie’s Hot Dogs in Civic Center Plaza

If you are in the City Hall area and are short on time (jury duty anyone?), there are a handful of places for a quick bite. Gyro King by the library for the Kofte plate, or Brenda’s Soul Food on Polk Street are good if you’ve got the time and $15. If you have $5 and only a few minutes, stop by Annie’s Hot Dog cart in the plaza right across from City Hall. $4 gets you a snappy, mildly spiced dog on a really fresh bun with onions and kraut. The dog is a little on the pale, almost grayish tan side for my tastes, but it is suprisingly good for a “dirty water frank”. Junkfoodie says check it out!
