Food Porn….

I know I usually write about cheap eats, usually $10 and under, but I thought that I would share photos from the most decadent meal I have ever eaten. It was also the most expensive as well at $1000 for 3. I can only describe these photos as “Food Porn”. Here are my photos from our meal at the French Laundry from August of 2007. Here are the photos and descriptions.

Amuse-bouche: Thomas Keller’s famous cornets. Tuile cone filled with creme fraiche and topped with finely chopped salmon tartare. One of several items not listed on the menu, but sent to the table.

A little bread and butter. Two kinds of butter, One from the Vermont Butter & Cheese Co. and a local unsalted variety.

Cauliflower Panna cotta with Oyster glaze and Sterling white sturgeon caviar

Moulard duck “foie gras en terrine”, Jacobsen’s Farms figs, compressed belgian endive, Sicilian pistachio paste and basalmic vinegar glaze (+$30)

Olive Oil poached sablefish, toybox tomatoes. garden squash< “fines herbes” and tomato bouillon.

Grilled Sea of Japan octopus, globe artichokes, marinated gypsy peppers, aged-sherry vinegar and arugula puree.

Four Story Hills Farm “Poularde”, Dandelion greens, Tokyo turnips, preserved Meyer lemon and brown butter “jus”.

 …to be continued.

  1. I had finally gotten my desire for fancy meals satisfied (thanks to Gary Danko!) and was over me need to try all the great SF restaurants. Until now, real nice there junkfoodie!!! Looks like I’ll be emptying my savings account at French Laundry soon…it looks tasty.

  2. Glad I could help 🙂
